Africa-Press – Angola. The consul general of the Republic of Zambia in the provinces of Cuando Cubango, Lunda Sul and Moxico, Bonifácio Musumali, held a meeting on Thursday with the provincial delegate of the Ministry of the Interior Alberto Tchinhama, which aimed to reinforce the country’s cross-border security strategies Mungo region, bordering the municipality of Rivungo.

At the meeting, the parties addressed visa facilitation, cattle theft, poaching, the use of prohibited weapons and ammunition and fuel smuggling.

The consul general of the Republic of Zambia in the provinces of Cuando Cubango, Lunda Sul and Moxico, Bonifácio Musumali, stated that Zambia cannot deal with cross-border matters alone, as it is a member of the Okavango-Zambezi project and laws must be joint for the combating crimes on the border.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior, Chief Superintendent Alberto Pacheco, explained that the crimes recorded on the border with Zambia are poaching, fuel smuggling and cattle theft.

During his two-day stay at CuandoCubango, Bonifácio Musumali carried out a guided visit to Companhia Siderúrgica do Cuchi, where he received explanations about the production of 200 tons of pig iron per day, the Missombo feed and fish farming factory and the prison services at Cuando Cubango.

The consul general of the Republic of Zambia in the provinces of Cuando Cubango, Lunda Sul and Moxico invited businesspeople from the province of Cuando Cubango to participate in the business fair in the province of Moxico, taking place next May, where Zambian businesspeople will participate, to strengthening cooperation and partnerships derived from business programs of the two governments.
