Africa-Press – Angola. The remains of kudurist Alfredo Vila Mendonça Miguel, better known as “King Tanoy”, who died last Sunday, victim of a car accident, were buried this Tuesday at the São Pedro cemetery, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo .

With a feeling of pain, mourning and emotion, the funeral, preceded by a wake in the multi-sports pavilion in the Lower City, were witnessed by family members, colleagues, friends, representatives of political parties and members of civil society organisations.

During the two moments, several messages were read, with emphasis on those from the Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports office, the National Union of Artists and Composers – Society of Authors, UNAC – SA, the civil society organization and the Specialty of MPLA musicians, who highlighted the qualities of the musician, considered by many as the king of kuduro in the province of Huambo.

Born on October 11, 1983, in the municipality of Cunhinga, Bié province, the musician Rei Tanoy, a registered member of the UNAC-SA as a musician and composer, began his artistic career in 1995 in the group Jesus Cristo and, later, in Enigmas .

Later, he felt inspired by the renowned Tony Amado and Sebem, and defined kuduro as his flag, seriously embracing the style and with his companions, he created the group “Os Mutchatchos de Tanoy” in 1997, with which he participated in several national and international festivals, with passages in several television programs such as: Nila Show, Jovem Mania, among others.

In 2010, he decided to pursue a solo career. Throughout his artistic journey, both in groups and individually, he achieved several conquests in music, such as the kuduro festival with the “Tuga” dance at Ruacana disco and the other, at Bar Kimbo, with the “Lemo” dance, feats that allowed him to obtain the title of King of Kurudo in the province of Huambo.

He is the author of several hits, with emphasis on Wara Wara, Utele tele, SIDA and others, and has also participated in the disc about SIDA, recorded by UNAC-SA

His artistic curriculum includes that of promoter and manager of nightclubs and creator of the carnival group Bloco Azul, with which he won an edition of the provincial phase.
