Africa-Press – Angola. The reverend of the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola (IECA), André Cangovi, considered, this Sunday, that dialogue, tolerance and unity should remain as prerequisites for the maintenance of effective peace among Angolans.
Looking at the “so many years of peace” in Angola, he defends more unity and harmony, as well as greater responsibility for those who run the country and the various institutions, for whom “everyone has a part to teach society so that it is fairer “.
The reverend was speaking about the day of peace and national reconciliation that Angola celebrates on April 4, during the inauguration of yet another temple of the congregation, located in the Compão neighbourhood, Cazenga municipality, in a ceremony attended by the administrator of Cazenga, Tomás Bica.
According to the pastor, peace is a reality and that honesty must be exercised and those who suffer must be recognized, so that they too can enjoy the riches of this country, work to reduce the situation of vulnerability and poverty that many Angolans still face, steps which points to solutions to social inequalities.
When asked, he spoke about the brain drain that the country needs for its aggrandizement to improve the conditions of the population in general.
He appealed to Angolans to seek the promises to live in communion with each other in peace and that reconciliation is true for the reconstruction of a society in which everyone accepts each other.
For his part, administrator Tomás Bica asked the faithful of the IECA to continue to pray for peace to always be effective for everyone, although there are some people who cannot live in tolerance and respect for differences.
Tomás Bica recognized the role of the IECA in the fight for the country’s independence through its missions and the work it carries out on behalf of the community in terms of health, education and professional training.
The inaugurated temple began to be built in 1988 and had a budget of 606 million and 996 thousand kwanzas.
In the adjacent part of the infrastructure, a primary school with nine classrooms, a professional training center was also built, while the construction of a health center is in the pipeline.
Songs and offerings were part of the ceremony that marked the Palm Sunday mass, in which Christians celebrate the beginning of Easter.
