Africa-Press – Angola. The commander of the Central Military Region (RMC), Lieutenant General Paulo Silva Xavier, Friday, appealed to the troops to refrain from party-political and union activities, in obedience to the rules and military discipline.
The general officer made the appeal during the opening of the instruction year 2023/2024, at the RMC level, held at the Armored Troops and Auto Driver Training school, in Chipipa commune, Huambo municipality, 18 kilometers from the center of this city.
He recalled that the military are non-partisan and represent the stability and moral reserve of the State.
Therefore, he said that they should not be part of power games or get involved in acts with unconfessed purposes, and should, for this purpose, always guide obedience in democratically instituted institutions.
He defended the need to comply with the principle of obedience of the military hierarchy of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
He urged the strengthening of professionalism and a spirit of bravery among the troops, so that they would be agents committed to ethical and moral values of society, fundamentally those bound by the national interest.
He recalled that in addition to ensuring the defense of national territory, the FAA, in fulfilling its mission, supports the Ministry of the Interior in actions to maintain public order and tranquillity, in the fight against organized crime and terrorism, exploitation and illicit traffic of strategic minerals.
It augured successes in the implementation of operational, combative and patriotic educational actions for the 2023/2024 instruction year, always preserving camaraderie and solidarity, as the main guarantors of the troops’ cohesion for the fulfillment of the mission of maintaining unity and national reconciliation.
He recommended the involvement of all personnel in the programmed activities, so that the established objectives are achieved and that, in the end, the tactical operational procedures are broadly and realistically assimilated, which could contribute to the increase of the combative levels of the military units and subunits. Of region.
The act took place under the motto “For combat readiness, let us strengthen military discipline”, adding general officers, superiors, captains, subalterns, sergeants, squares and civil workers from the RMC that covers the provinces of Benguela, Bié, Cuanza Sul and Huambo.
