Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, Friday, in Moçâmedes, Namibe province, noted the level of physical execution of the renovation works on the Welwitschia Mirabilis pavilion, one of the venues for Afrobasket`2025, from 12 to 24 August.
Heading the organising committee for the event, which will also be hosted in Luanda, Rui Falcão met with the governor of Namibe, Archer de Sousa Mangueira, and his government team.
He then visited the building in detail, where works are underway to improve the lighting, flooring and sound systems.
There, the minister received information from the head of the company managing the infrastructure, Eduardo Paiva de Jesus.
The ministerial leader was informed that the works are progressing at a good pace and that the four companies responsible for carrying out the renovation of the space are working hard to have it delivered by the end of July.
It should be noted that the project began in April of this year, and is the first renovation work since the inauguration of the Welwitschia Mirabilis pavilion in 2013.
In Namíbe, the minister will also visit the Hélder Neto pavilion, which will be used for team training, as well as the hotel facilities where the teams will be staying.
