Africa-Press – Angola. On Wednesday, Head of the Russian consumer watchdog Rospoterbnadzor, Anna Popova, said that Russia-African cooperation in the field of infection control is to be deepened.
Russian consumer watchdog Rospotrebnadzor has demonstrated the capabilities of Russian mobile laboratory to colleagues from Africa.
Mobile laboratories were presented by Russian President Vladimir Putin to his Ugandan counterpart as a gift at the second Russia-Africa Summit. On the eve of the Russian-African International Conference on Combatting Infectious Diseases, which was held in Uganda on April 17-19, these laboratories were delivered by Rospotrebnadzor to the capital of the African country.The anti-epidemic laboratories were developed in Russia. They are used not only in Russia, but also in 14 countries of the world. The use of such laboratories makes it possible to detect any infectious disease, including the most dangerous ones, such as Ebola, Marburg virus, Dengue, Lassa fever, which is extremely important for the African continent.
The capacity of these laboratories allow up to 2,000 tests per day for more than 20 infections, and their mobility and autonomy allow them to be quickly transferred and used in the most remote areas.
