Africa-Press – Angola. The National Bank of Angola (BNA) hosts, from 10 to 12 May, the 56th meeting of the Committee of Governors of Central Banks (CCBG) of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), to analyze the financial system of region.

The high-level meeting of the Governors of the SADC Central Banks foresees, globally, to carry out the analysis of the Financial System of the SADC Region, with particular emphasis on payment systems, banking regulation and supervision, clearing and settlement.

The governors will also discuss the issue of the repatriation of banknotes and coins, the impact of exchange controls on cross-border flows of goods, services and capital, as well as exchanges in training staff.

This initiative of the Committee of Governors of Central Banks of SADC also envisages the creation of a database of monetary and financial statistics, an information bank on the structures and policies of central banks and financial markets in the countries of SADC.

Created in 1995, the Committee of Governors of Central Banks of SADC is a specialized structure in the promotion of close cooperation between the Central Banks of Southern Africa, considering its fundamental role in the promotion of economic and financial development through the adoption of policies that reinforce macroeconomic and financial stability.
