Africa-Press – Angola. Sécil Marítima has doubled the number of flights it has been offering since the beginning of last week on the Cabinda/Soyo route, in order to meet demand during the festive season.
The information was given to the press on Saturday by the provincial secretary for transport, António Custódio, at the end of a meeting of the Provincial Commission for the festive season, chaired by the vice-governor of Cabinda for the political and social sector, Miguel de Oliveira.
He announced that the catamaran is currently operating six flights per week, compared to the usual three, transporting a considerable number of passengers from Cabinda to Soyo and vice-versa.
The same is happening on the Cabinda/Luanda route and vice-versa, in order to reduce the flow of passengers at the local maritime terminal.
Regarding TAAG flights, the provincial secretary for transport in the northernmost province of the country said that four services are operated daily, connecting Doutor António Agostinho Neto international airport and Maria Mambu Café.
For internal transport, the source said that 20 public buses are available to transport residents before, during and after the festive season.
Located in the north of Angola, the province of Cabinda has an estimated population of over 800,000 inhabitants, spread across four municipalities: Belize, Cacongo, Buco-Zau and Sede.
