Africa-Press – Angola. The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) accused, in Luena, the municipal secretary of MOVANGOLA in Moxico, Jamba André Calichi, accused of committing the crime of reception, for allegedly having been involved in the purchase of electronic materials stolen from a public school .
The information was confirmed, this Wednesday, in Luena, by the spokesman for the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) of Moxico, Elisiário dos Passos, stating that the alleged offender acquired one of the 12 computers stolen from Complexo Escolar no 338 “Camarada Tchifutchi ” by the citizen José António, also accountable to justice.
Speaking to the press, he stressed that, after being heard by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the defendant complies with the personal coercion measure of identity and residence term, with an obligation to present himself, regularly, while the process is ongoing.
During this process, he continued, the municipal secretary of MOVANGOLA was also sentenced by the Provincial Court of Moxico to 10 days in prison, with suspended sentence, after being submitted to summary judgment, for crimes of disobedience and resistance.
“At his residence, when asked by the authorities about purchasing the computer, the accused showed resistance in presenting the stolen medium”, said the spokesperson.
He added that while committing disobedience, the accused was assisted by a minor under the age of 15, his stepson, who tried to stab an SIC agent with a cold weapon (a kitchen knife) in the chest area.
The process of this minor, according to the SIC spokesperson, is awaiting legal procedures as it enjoys a special jurisdiction.
