Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy secretary of the Union of Angolan Journalists (SJA) in the province of Huambo, Cristina Raimundo Satanda, stated yesterday, Thursday, that the training of professionals in the sector contributes to ensuring a favorable and harmonious labor relationship.
The trade unionist was speaking at the end of training on tax matters, aimed at journalists from public and private media bodies in the province of Huambo, in an institutional partnership between the SJA and the Tax Office.
On the occasion, he said that the training of journalists constitutes a determining factor in establishing a favorable and harmonious relationship in the workplace, as it allows the attribution of necessary skills so that they can fully fulfill their duties, as workers, before the employer.
“For us, within the scope of our objectives and mission, as a trade union body, investing in the training of professionals constitutes one of the main priorities, so that they can gain skills that allow them to perform, fully and with greater responsibility”, he highlighted.
Cristina Satanda stated that it is through training that journalists are able to better inform and train citizens, in fulfilling their professional responsibilities, living up to the expression, according to which “He only knows how to perform his role well, who knows what to do and how to do”.
The union leader highlighted the importance of paying taxes to improve citizens’ living conditions and promote social and economic development.
He mentioned that the current reality of the world imposes greater challenges, above all, in the field of organization and development of countries, in the mobilization of resources for the execution of public programs, aimed, essentially, at improving the living conditions of citizens.
In the case of Angola, he continued, fluctuations in the price of oil on the international market, as the main source of financing for the General State Budget (OGE), have proven that the focus on non-oil revenues, through the collection of taxes, constitutes the best way to get out of the current less good macroeconomic situation.
To this end, he said it is imperative to raise awareness and mobilize citizens to fulfill their civic duty, embodied in participation in public life and the construction of the common good, regularly paying taxes.
The person responsible hopes for greater involvement of journalists in the dissemination and dissemination of information, through the media.
Cristina Satanda highlighted the importance of carrying out training on tax matters, in view of the objectives of providing participants with knowledge of tax matters, for greater elucidation and awareness among citizens on compliance with tax obligations.
During two days, participants learned about the Angolan Tax System, Taxpayer Registration Procedures, Import Taxation Procedures, Taxes on Motor Vehicles, Property Tax (IP), Industrial Tax and Labor Income Tax (IRT), about Added Value (VAT), Legal Regime and Invoices and Equivalent Documents, Deadlines for compliance with Tax Obligations and Tax Procedures and Taxpayer Guarantees.
