SJA wants experienced professionals for CEFOJOR in Huambo

Africa-Press – Angola. The general secretary of the Union of Angolan Journalists (SJA), Teixeira Cândido, defended, this Friday, the need for experienced media professionals who are going to retire to serve as tutors at the Journalist Training Center (CEFOJOR).

On the sidelines of the inauguration of CEFOJOR in Huambo, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the person in charge hopes that the center can maximize the difficulties of laboratories and training centers that journalism universities do not have.

Teixeira Cândido said that there are many professionals trained to teach the technical or dogmatic component, but there are not many teachers for the technical perspective and, for this reason, he understands that it would be good to take advantage of experienced professionals who are in retirement to fill this gap.

“We no longer want a mere academic, because this is not a university, it is a training center par excellence, because whoever leaves here cannot have any doubts about the lead or what type of journalistic genre they are practicing”, he emphasized.

For the person responsible, whoever leaves CEFOJOR has to master the tools and the technical component “because only then will this investment be worth it”.

He understands that, due to its size and equipment, CEFOJOR in Huambo should feed other provinces, such as Luanda, which has several Universities but lacks laboratories.

He considered CEFOJOR in Huambo to be a good space for university students to exercise their technical skills.

Located in the Macolocolo neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo, the center will provide training in the areas of journalism, public relations, multimedia, cinema, advertising and digital marketing across the country and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region..

The infrastructure, budgeted at around 35 million US dollars, encompasses six buildings, one of which is reserved for the catering service, two multi-sports courts and six transit residences, with types T4 and T3, in addition to studios TV, Radio and Press.
