Built in an area of 65 hectares, around the city of Saurimo, the solar park will provide 26 Megawatts of clean energy and has 44,850 solar panels and 8,738 transmission lines, which will benefit 131,000 citizens.
The deadline for completion of the infrastructure is scheduled for May 2024.
After the end of the visit by the Minister of Energy and Water, João Borges, Daniel Neto, said that this investment by the Executive will contribute to the emergence of more manufacturing industries in the region and guarantee jobs for young people.
He explained that the lack of investment in the energy sector, in the province, conditioned the attraction of potential entrepreneurs, who aspire to invest, but, with these signs, such intention will be a fact to develop the economy at all levels.
He underlined that with the entry into operation of this network, operating costs, with the purchase of fuel and the exorbitant amounts spent will be reduced.
The province of Lunda Sul currently has 40 megawatts, of which 20 are supplied by the Nhama Thermal Power Station and the same number by Txicumina.
