Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and 82 million dollars is the amount in profit raised in 2022 by the national oil company SOMOIL, which operates in the municipality of Soyo, province of Zaire.

The chairman of the company’s board of directors, Edson dos Santos, pointed out that the profits obtained result from investments in modern technological means.

The manager who was speaking to the press this Wednesday, in the city of Soyo, did not provide comparative data, referring to the previous year’s revenues.

He also spoke of strengthening the administrative, operational and environmental organization in the blocks where it operates, measures that also dictated the success in revenue collection.

He informed that SOMOIL explores crude oil in high risk blocks, discovered and explored since the 70’s, without incident.

He explained that the oil company developed profound changes in terms of production fields, which resulted in the replacement of obsolete technological equipment.

As an example, he said that a conversion of diesel generators to gas was made to supply electricity to the areas of operations.

This innovation, according to the source, avoided the continuous burning of gas in the oil blocks, as well as saving money that was spent on buying fuel for the diesel generators.

He announced that the oil company’s current production is close to 25,000 barrels per day, ensured by more than 1,000 workers, including staff and contractors.

He explained that, at the moment, the company operates in four blocks with the same number of concessions, three of which are onshore (onshore), two in production and one in the exploration phase.
