Africa-Press – Angola. Sonangol will restructure Porto Amboim Estaleiros Navais (Paenal), located in Cuanza Sul, based on a business model adapted to the current and future challenges of the market.
As one of Paenal’s main shareholders, the national oil company justifies that the measure aims to revitalize the said institution, so that it returns to the set of active units and increases turnover.
According to a note from the oil company that press had access to, this Wednesday, for the implementation of these measures, Sonangol is working with partners for a profound change that could involve changing the corporate structure and defining a new operation model.
Such a process could lead to an international tender, according to the oil company.
Within the framework of the planned changes, the oil company guarantees that workers’ rights and local commitments will be duly guaranteed.
Paenal-Poeto Amboim Estaleiros Navais Limitada, is a manufacturing and integration shipyard that started operating in 2007.
Since its launch, this institution has already built complex facilities for the oil and gas industry in the country.
