Africa-Press – Angola. BP Oil Internacional and Trafigura PTE won the international public tender, simplified by material criteria, launched by Sonangol, for the import of gasoline and diesel into the country.
According to the national oil company, with the results achieved from the tender held, the supply of said derivatives for the next 12 months is assured.
The tender ran from January 6th to February 14th of this year, according to a note from Sonangol.
For the same competition, 21 international companies were invited, including Chevron Corporation, Galp, Gemcor, BP, Aramco Tradind, Totsa, Vitol, ExxMobil Corporation, Repsol, among others.
Of the invited companies, Sonangol says it has received eight proposals, having selected the two considered the best, that is, with the best economic evaluation.
Sonangol, in the fourth quarter of 2022, imported 701 thousand metric tons of refined products, with a decrease of 174 thousand metric tons (MT), compared to the third quarter.
Of the volume of imports of refined products, Sonangol spent US$717 million, US$281 million less than in the previous period, according to data released recently by the President of the Executive Committee of the Business Unit of Trading and Shipping, Luís Manuel.
