Africa-Press – Angola. State oil company Sonangol ordered, from South Korea, the construction of two oil tankers with the capacity to transport one million barrels of oil, as part of the reinforcement of its Suezmax line fleet.
Of the two tankers, one of the ships began to be built on the 15th of July, to be delivered in March 2023, and the second in the following quarter.
According to Sonangol, the start of construction was formalized with the cutting of steel, marking the pre-fabrication phase of the vessels.
The ship is being built by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI), in compliance with the technical specifications established by the international shipping market and the environmental standards for containing maritime pollution.
