Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan singer Manuel Simão “Bambila” was one of the attractions at the International Solidarity Sounds Festival, held on Saturday night, at the State Theater in Pretoria (South Africa).

With a practically full room, the audience sang and applauded the Angolan gospel-style musician who was surprised by the receptivity of the South African public.

Bambila traveled to South Africa under the sponsorship of the Embassy of the Republic of Angola, responding to an invitation from the Tshwane Gospel Choir.

The event aimed to highlight the dynamics of world leaders committed to building peace, a role in which the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, stands out on the African continent.

The CEO of the Tshwane Gospel Choir, Bheki Langa, considers Angola a nation of peace, which is why he expressed his intention to work with musicians from the country to exchange experience with representatives from Botswana, Cuba, Canada, Mozambique and Cameroon.

The Angolan ambassador to South Africa, Rui Orlando Xavier, who attended the show, praised the initiative, highlighting the fact that it took place on the day of the celebration of the 36th anniversary of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale (23 March), a date that symbolizes the liberation of Southern Africa.
