The Supreme Court (TS) rejected the appeal of the ruling relating to the contradictory investigation process of the criminal case involving the former director of the National Reconstruction Office (GNR), Manuel Hélder Vieira Dias “Kopelipa”, accused by the Ministry Public of six crimes.

When reporting on the situation to the press, this Wednesday, in Luanda, the spokesperson for the Supreme Court, Leandro Lopes, said that the decision was issued on the 20th of December last and the parties were notified on the 15th of January. last, with the defense appealing.

According to the spokesperson, the appeal was denied last week, so the announcement of the start date of the trial is awaited.

Manuel Hélder Vieira Dias “Kopelipa”, also a former Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, is accused of crimes of embezzlement, fraud by defrauding, falsifying documents, influence peddling, criminal association and abuse of power, in the case registered under number 004/23, in which the Public Prosecutor’s Office is a participant.

The same case also includes defendants Fernando Gomes dos Santos, accused of the crimes of fraud by defrauding, falsifying documents, influence peddling, criminal association and money laundering, as well as the companies Plasmart Internacional Limited and Utter Right Internacional Limited, accused of fraud. for fraud, falsification of documents, influence peddling and money laundering.
