Africa-Press – Angola. The Deputy President of the Supreme Court, Efigénia Clemente, visited the Angolan Embassy in India last weekend, where she was received by Ambassador Clemente Camenha.

The meeting, which also included Judge Carlos Cavuquila and Minister Abel Mavungo, discussed initiatives and perspectives aimed at deepening institutional exchange and cooperation between the Supreme Courts of the two countries.

The meeting followed the recent meeting between the Vice-President of the Supreme Court of Angola and the President of the Supreme Court of India.

According to the Angolan delegation, this dialogue opens up “promising horizons” for the construction of a future agreement or memorandum of understanding that formalizes cooperation mechanisms.

The objective is to promote technical, academic and technological exchange, strengthening the institutional capacities of the courts and creating a basis for structured collaboration in the fields of justice.

Training and technological modernization in focus

During the visit to the Diplomatic Mission, opportunities for collaboration with Indian judicial entities were also analyzed, with emphasis on continuing education programs, capacity building of personnel and technological modernization initiatives of the Angolan judicial system.

Justice, Efigénia Clemente also shared the experiences resulting from the participation of the Angolan Supreme Court in the 26th International Conference of Heads of Justice of the World, where new possibilities for bilateral cooperation in the judicial and academic fields were identified.

The Embassy reinforces support for initiatives

In turn, Ambassador Clemente Camenha expressed satisfaction with the delegation’s visit and assured that the embassy will continue to be committed to bringing the judicial institutions of the two countries closer together.

He also highlighted that India maintains similar cooperation programs with countries such as Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh, which demonstrates openness to future initiatives involving Angola.
