Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan Foreign Minister, Tete Antonio, on Friday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, granted a audience to the CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Mesfin Tasew Bekele, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between Ethiopian and Angolan airlines (TAAG).
The audience held on the sidelines of the 39th Summit of Heads of State and Government, focused on consolidating the strategic partnership between the two carriers, considered to be pillars of the civil aviation sector in their respective countries.
The parties reviewed existing cooperation mechanisms and assessed new areas of collaboration, with a focus on aircraft maintenance, technical information sharing, training and training of Angolan cadres.
It also reviewed initiatives aimed at the transfer of knowledge and the development of expertise with a view to strengthening TAAG’s operational capacity and modernizing its services, benefiting from Ethiopian Airlines experience and international positioning.
Mesfin Tasew Bekele reaffirmed the Ethiopian airline’s willingness to deepen cooperation with TAAG and considered that the partnership contributes to the strengthening of air links between the two nations and to Africa’s affirmation in the global aviation sector.
Minister Tete António on his turn, stressed the strategic importance of collaboration between the two companies, which in his view, is crucial for increasing regional connectivity, boosting trade and promoting tourism, in line with the continental integration objectives advocated by the African Union.
