Africa-Press – Angola. The fare for public taxis will now cost 200 kwanzas, according to a note from the National Land Transport Agency, made public this Wednesday, in Luanda.
To date, the taxi fare has been set at 150 kwanzas.
The document also determines that the fare for public urban public transport by road for passengers to be applied on all routes in the province of Luanda, will now cost 150 kwanzas, over a minimum length of 20 kilometers.
The measure, the note states, results from the need to adjust tariffs for Public Urban Public Transport Services for Passengers and Occasional Passenger Transport in the province of Luanda.
The adjustment is silent on the entry into force of the new prices and highlights that the fare adjustment is made in accordance with the updated cost structure, after consultation with taxi drivers’ associations and taxi cooperatives in the province of Luanda.
This Wednesday the moratorium on the end of fuel subsidies for taxi drivers ended, a process whose end was initially scheduled for April 30th and was extended until May 15th.
