Technicians reinforce skills on licensing of hotel activity

Africa-Press – Angola. Technicians from the different sectors of the municipal administration of Cuanhama, southern Cunene province, are being trained in matters related to the licensing of hospitality, tourism and culture activities, in order to better master these instruments.

At the opening of the action, the municipal administrator of Cuanhama, José Kalomo, said that the initiative is part of the implementation of the process of strengthening administrative deconcentration underway in the country.

According to the official, it is the exclusive responsibility of municipal administrations to issue and renew permits, license micro and small companies and catering, hotel and tourism units.

“Gathering the technical conditions and human resources for the purpose, it becomes imperative to train them so that they know how to proceed in the instruction and processing of processes, in order to guarantee the efficiency and the approximation of services to the citizen”.

He also explained that the training action aims to train, raise awareness and equip those responsible for dealing with hospitality and similar services.

On the other hand, he praised the role of the hotel industry in the tourism development of a country and in promoting the diversification of the economy – one of the objectives of the Angolan Executive.

He appealed for the commitment and dedication of the trainees, hoping that the acquired knowledge would be put into practice, in order to provide an excellent job with more dignity.

Cunene has six municipalities and all of them resumed, in 2022, the licensing of hotel, tourism and culture activities, as well as the issuing of permits to micro and small companies.
