Africa-Press – Angola. The musical works of musician and composer Teta Lando mark the special edition of Sunday in Our Way, to be held sunday from 5pm at Prova D` Art, Miramar. The Banda Nova Geração do Huambo was the last attraction of the project. The line-up includes some of Teta Lando’s main songs that will be performed by the Dizu Dietu Ensemble. The activity is part of the day dedicated to the artist that began on Monday, 2 June, with a press conference and the following day, an agreement was signed between the family and the Kuzinga publishing house for the production of a biographical work.

Teta Lando is the author of songs such as “Old Hopes”, “14 Rains”, “Tata Nketo”, “Black Carapinha”, “Cecília”, “Kimbemba”, “Lady listen to my voice”, “Angola of Tomorrow”, “Ngingo Mambo”, “Ntoyo”, “I Will Return”, “Massanga Mami”, “Angolan Moves On” and others such as “Reunite” also known as “Sunday Funje” a mandatory song for the moment.A voice for unification

A native of Mbanza Kongo, Teta Lando was posthumously awarded the National Prize for Culture and Arts in 2019. Born on June 2, 1948, he died on July 14, 2008, in Paris. Throughout his career, he was president of the National Union of Artists and Composers.

With Massano Júnior, he was part of the group África Show as a guitarist. His discography includes the works “Tia Chica”, “Independência”, “Eu Vou Voltar”, “Semba Rytmée”, “Reunir”, “Menina de Angola”, “Esperanças Idosas” and the collection “Memórias”. He returned to the country in 1989 during his participation in Fenacult, 14 years after leaving his beloved Angola in 1975.
