Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy governor for the political, economic and social sector of Cunene, Apolo Ndinoulenga, this Thursday called on families to rescue moral and civic values, in order to guarantee healthy coexistence and consolidate social harmony.

The official, who was speaking at the opening of the 23rd Provincial Council for the Family, highlighted the need for families and communities to assume a central role in the transmission of moral values, aiming at promoting good practices and moralizing society.

Apolo Ndinoulenga stressed that the family is the main base of an organized, moralized and humanized society, thus living together as a family implies constant interaction between its members, establishing relationships that serve to maintain the balance system.

In this sense and concerned with family stability, he added that efforts are being made to structure families, aiming at strengthening society and creating a personality worthy of respect.

The deputy governor recognized that family breakdown continues to be a reality in the region, contributing to the loss of values ​​and conflicts in homes.

“Family breakdown continues to be, unfortunately, a reality and because of that we have witnessed the loss of values ​​and disrespect between members of the same family”, he underlined.

As a result, he clarified, there is a high number of early pregnancies, excessive use of alcoholic beverages and other drugs, disrespect for human dignity, lack of civility or disrespect for the rules of community life, sexual violation that in some cases those involved are the family members themselves.

On the other hand, he praised the work carried out by the provincial council in the search for appropriate solutions to solve many problems that affect families.

For this reason, he urged the participants to make the most of the topics under analysis, with a view to being disseminated to the benefit of the communities.

In turn, acting director of the Social Action, Family and Gender Equality office, Alexandre Tulikeni, said that the event generally aims to reflect on public programs and policies in favor of valuing the family and strengthening its skills.

It defined the family council as a space for consultation and consultation on the problems that affect families, seeking adequate solutions for the realignment of policies related to the family.

Under the motto “Social inclusion of families, well-being and dignity for all”, participants are addressing topics related to the rights, duties and responsibilities of families, Education from a gender perspective and culture of peace and the role of the family in promotion and protection of the environment.

Participating in the one-day event are provincial directors, municipal administrators, traditional and religious authorities, political parties, representatives of civil society organizations, among other guests.
