Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial representative of Benguela of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the World, “Tocoísta”, pastor Celestino Kangela, urged, this Sunday, the Government to implement more programs with an impact on improving the well-being of families.

Pastor Celestino Kangela was speaking to the press, regarding the thanksgiving service that brought together hundreds of faithful to celebrate the 106th birthday of the founding leader of “Tocoismo”, the prophet Simão Gonçalves Toco “Mayomona”, marked on February 24th.

Despite recognizing the attention of government authorities to empowering families, the religious leader emphasizes that the current social situation requires practical actions against hunger and poverty.

He considers that, despite the Government’s efforts, the Church is also concerned about the increase in the cost of living and has contributed within its possibilities to minimize the difficulties of families.

As an example, the leader of the congregation in the province of Benguela points to the community kitchen, since December 2019, as a project that reflects the contribution of the Tocoísta Church to helping many needy families.

“The Church is implanted in the secular environment and often what affects society also affects the faithful”, he stressed, highlighting that the Tocoísta Church has been a partner of the Government in the social area, which is why it opened the community kitchen, in neighborhood 70, surroundings from the city of Benguela.

In this context, he said that, as a member of the Provincial Council for Consultation and Consultation with Communities, he has advised so that government policies have the desired effects on families at this stage.

In fact, he states that the implementation of social actions also helps to combat some evils, such as crime, prostitution and the family breakdown that we have seen in recent times.
