The fact was announced this Wednesday, in the province of Cuanza-Norte, by the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing, Carlos dos Santos, at the end of an inspection visit to the road infrastructure in this location.

Speaking to the press, the official said that the project, which aims to raise revenue to ensure the conservation of roads, will be aligned with the program of placing scales on the country’s main national roads, with a view to regulating the excess weight of vehicles..

He stated that, at the moment, the process of acquiring scales and other accessories is underway to implement this program.

The minister also announced the start of construction work on a ring road in the city of Ndalatando, capital of Kwanza-Norte, in 2025, with the aim of diverting all heavy traffic outside the city and providing greater safety for road traffic.

He said that the public tender is already underway to prepare studies and projects for the construction of the aforementioned circular.

The visit of the Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Housing to the road infrastructures of Cuanza-Norte, who was accompanied by the provincial governor, João Gaspar, also served to reopen road traffic on the bridge over the Mucoso river, in the Luanda section /Dondo.

Road traffic on this route was interrupted for around 35 days, due to the partial destruction of the bridge over the Mucoso River, on Estrada Nacional 321, as a result of the heavy rains that fell in the province.
