Torres praises team spirit on return to winning ways

Africa-Press – Angola. The coach at Desportivo da Huíla, Paulo Torres, hailed the team’s return to winning ways, eight games later, attributing the “merit” to resilience, team spirit and support from the Club’s management.

In a press conference after the game in which he received and beat Santa Rita de Cássia do Uíge by 2-0 at Estádio Tundavala, on Sunday afternoon, the Portuguese coach admitted that the group experienced difficult moments of pressure, but considers that they are now healed.

“It was a sequence of defeats that we were not used to, we had been fighting for some time to overcome the problem, for what we deserved to win, for everything we have done, our players have done”, he pointed out.

Even so, Torres admits that the current ranking of the team “leaves something to be desired”, because for everything it has done it deserves another position in the leaderboard.

In turn, the Santa Rita de Cássia coach, Ngoma Rafael, admitted the superiority of the opponent and said that he accepts the result with “naturalness”, because Desportivo scored two fair goals.

He regretted the “long journey” from Uíge to Lubango, by road, with more than 1,500 kilometers, but he still considers that they played a “good game”.

Played by the 28th round of Girabola, Desportivo da Huíla has 29 points in tenth place, while “Católicos” from Uíge are in eighth, with 35.
