Africa-Press – Angola. The Supreme Court (TS) praised this Thursday, in Luanda, the figure of the venerable retired judge advisor Alberto William Henriques, who died last October, due to illness, in Lisbon (Portugal).
In a posthumous tribute ceremony to his memory, whose message was read by the also retired judge Augusto Carneiro, the court praised the contribution and dedication made to the judiciary by Alberto Henriques, having highlighted how bold, fearless and sensitive was during his lifetime.
According to Augusto Carneiro, retired judge Alberto Henriques soon demonstrated character and commitment to his duties, which made him a selfless professional who earned respect and admiration throughout his career.
“He was an example of a citizen who served with dedication and love”, he said, during the ceremony in which Bruno Henriques, son of the deceased, and the venerable retired judge Caetano de Sousa, former vice-president of the TS, also intervened, both of whom mentioned , in his messages, striking aspects linked to the life of the deceased, as head of the family, colleague, friend and honored citizen.
Sounded by the Celso Mambo orchestra, the act was witnessed, among several individuals, by the vice-president of the TS, Efigénia Clemente, judge advisors, court officials, magistrates and relatives of the deceased, limited to the presentation of bows, greetings to the bereaved family and the signing of the book of condolences.
Retired in 2016, Alberto Willian Henriques, born on March 20, 1947, in the province of Cuanza Norte, formally joined the former FAPLA in 1974 and five years later was transferred to the Military Court of the Armed Forces.
Among other functions, in 1980, he served as president of the Military Court of the 1st Region, with headquarters in the province of Uíge and jurisdiction in Cuanza Norte and Malanje, and head of the inspection department of the Miliatr Court in Luanda, in 1981.
After his demobilization, in 1983, he was appointed judge of Law, having been placed in the 2nd Criminal Court of Luanda. In 1990 he was transferred to the 2nd Civil Court of the Provincial Court of Luanda and three years later to the Family Room of the same court.
