UEFA thanks French president Emmanuel Macron “for his personal support and commitment to moving the most prestigious game in European club football to France at a time of unprecedented crisis”.

The final, which is scheduled for May 28, would take place in Saint Petersburg, in a stadium built for the 2018 World Cup and financed by energy giant Gazprom, one of UEFA’s major sponsors. The new venue for the final will be the Stade de France, north of Paris.
