Africa-Press – Angola. The Head of State of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, arrived in Angola on Tuesday night to participate in the investiture ceremony of the re-elected President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent, after his arrival, Umaro Sissoco Embalo went to the Presidential Palace of Cidade Alta, where he had a private meeting with the Head of State, João Lourenço.
Umaro Sissoco Embalo, who is also acting president of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), is the first guest to arrive in the country and was received at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, accompanied by the governor of Luanda, Ana Paula de Carvalho.
Who also arrived in Luanda late Tuesday afternoon, and for the same purpose, is the president of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), Gilberto da Piedade Veríssimo, and the Executive Secretary of the Organization of African States, Caribbean and Pacific (OEACP).
The inauguration of the re-elected President, João Lourenço, and the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, will take place on Thursday, 15 September, at Praça da República, in Luanda.
