Africa-Press – Angola. The participation of the three Angolan trade union centrals in the management of funds from the contributions of workers and employers will be one of the main topics at the table of the meeting between the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security and the “Trade Union Movement” (CG SILA, UNTA and Força Sindical), scheduled for next Friday, 11.
The information was provided by the secretary general of CG SILA, Francisco Jacintinho Gaspar, during the press conference that presented the opinion of unionists on the salary readjustment that varies between four and 50 percent.
Francisco Jacintinho Gaspar recalled that union activity serves to help the Government in the search for the best solutions, to improve the lives of workers, which is why there should be no parallel with party activity, nor should it be seen as an opponent of those who administer public affairs. . “Permanent contact between the parties must be a priority, in order to avoid the tendency of strikes”, he underlined.
The unionist stated that the proposal presented to the Executive is that pension funds should be used to generate capital and to finance programs to improve the living and working conditions of taxpayers, such as access to drinking water, health services and public transport, rather than just providing a guarantee for living at retirement age.
