Africa-Press – Angola. The president of UNITA, Adalberto da Costa Júnior, said, this Wednesday, that his party’s deputies are in Huambo to seek close contact with the electorate and share about the importance of local authorities.
The party leader was speaking at a mass political event, which marked the opening of the day commemorating UNITA Deputy Day, which is celebrated , running until Sunday (12) under the motto “UNITA Parliamentary Group for local authorities at the service of the citizen ”.
On the occasion, Adalberto da Costa Júnior said that the activity of UNITA deputies takes place in the province of Huambo in recognition of the importance of this region of the country’s Central Highlands.
He said it was a province that was greatly sacrificed by the armed conflict, and, however, “it is necessary to turn the page, as the war is over and it is necessary to build a new, developed Angola with dignity for all”.
He said that the deputies will work to share the importance of local authorities, where they can travel to municipalities, communes and villages, to seek proximity to the population.
UNITA Deputy Day is held in honor of parliamentarian Raúl Danda, who died on May 8, 2022
. The date also celebrates the contribution of all deputies who, from the first legislature in 1992, to the present, carry out the functions of representing, legislating and monitoring with the aim of building a prosperous Angola ZZN/JSV/ALH.
