United Nations recognizes improvements in Angola

Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), Abdulla Shahid, said, Thursday (12), in Luanda, that “Angola suffered a lot during a period but, today, you can see how things are going. to improve towards a prosperous future”.

Speaking at a lecture with young students at the Venâncio de Moura Diplomatic Academy, an institution linked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid said:

“Since I arrived in this country I can see some leadership in people’s faces, which effectively demonstrates the commitment and desire for peace and security in the world”, underlined the president of the UN General Assembly.

He recalled later that, since Angola achieved independence, it has been elected twice as a member of the United Nations Security Council, which, in his view, demonstrates “leadership”.

The diplomat also announced that the United Nations will do everything in its power to improve the relationship with Angola, for whom the United Nations system works to ensure the prosperity of the Member States and make life better for the peoples.

He advised young people to think about “the good they can do if they have goodness in their hearts”.
