Africa-Press – Angola. The Embassy of the United States of America (USA) in Angola announced, this Thursday, that the registration period for the 2025 Diversity Visa Lottery (DV Lottery) will run until November 7, 2023.
According to a note from the diplomatic representation, in the specific case of Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe, the diversity (immigration) visa lottery is open to all citizens who have completed secondary education or who have a profession that requires a specialized training.
Clarifies that the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program makes available, each year, up to 55 thousand diversity visas (DVs) drawn by random selection, among all applications, of people who meet the strict eligibility requirements.
He adds that the program aims to diversify the immigrant population in the United States, selecting candidates from countries with a low rate of immigration to this nation.
It also adds that there is no fee to pay to register for the diversity visa lottery, and the Department only accepts online applications through the website dvprogram.state.gov .
Likewise, the US Department of State strongly advises applicants to complete applications themselves, as false, even erroneous, information may result in disqualification.
In this context, on May 4, 2024, participants in the diversity visa lottery will be able to use the unique confirmation number to check if they have been selected. To prevent fraud, applicants should know that the Department of State will never make visa interview selections or notifications by mail, emails, or telephone.

In the context of the opening of registration for the DV Lottery, the United States ambassador to Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe, Tulinabo Mushingi, comments that “this is a great opportunity.
