Africa-Press – Angola. The administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Samantha Power, will hold a working visit to Angola from April 23 to 25 to reaffirm the North American commitment to supporting prosperity, security and good governance in the country.
Accompanied by the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, Richard Verma, according to a press release, Samantha Power will meet with members of the Angolan government, civil society and business leaders in Luanda.
Additionally, he will highlight USAID’s investments in malaria prevention during a visit to the Angolan National Health Research Institute, a key partner in the Presidential Malaria Initiative (PMI).
The document also states that the administrator will also travel to the province of Benguela to promote US support for the Lobito Corridor, a priority project of the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investments (PGI) that will connect the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia to regional and global commercial markets through the Port of Lobito.
During your stay in Benguela, you will meet with local peasants and government partners.
