Africa-Press – Angola. The men’s and women’s volleyball teams of the Scorpions of Boa-fé, from the municipality of Viana, were honored this Monday for reaching the podium in the 37th National Championship, which ended on Saturday, in the province of Huambo.
The men from Viana took second place, while the women took third.
During the event, which took place in the municipal administration of Viana, the team management handed over the respective cups to the local administrator, Demétrio de Sepúlveda.
In response, the person responsible congratulated the club for its achievement in the finals of both classes and praised the commitment of the teams and technical groups that were able to adequately represent the municipality of Viana in the competition.
Speaking to the press, he stated that the Escorpião da Boa-fé team is an example to follow in the massification and promotion of this and other sports in the district.
He added that the administration will continue to support sport in the municipality, especially school sports, which he considers to be the basis for the growth of all sports.
The athletes’ reception took place at the Municipal Administration in front of several individuals who encourage and help promote volleyball and sport in Viana.
The two championships, opened on September 21st and whose games took place at the Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem pavilion, in the interior of the city of Huambo, were played, during the regular phase, in an all-against-all system.
This was followed by the quarter-finals for the men, semi-finals for both classes, classifications and finals.
The championship was won by the Blue Vólei Clube de Luanda team.
