Vice-governor advocates preserving peace and national unity

Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy governor of the province of Cabinda for the Political and Social sector, Miguel de Oliveira, advocated on Monday, in this city, the importance of continuing to preserve peace, unity and reconciliation among Angolans.

The person responsible launched the challenge during an act that marked the opening of activities in reference to the Day of Peace and National Reconciliation, to be celebrated on April 4th.

The vice-governor invited citizens to forget partisan, ideological, religious, gender and origin differences to invest in actions that drive the country’s sustainable development.

According to the official, effective peace is the greatest achievement of Angolans after National Independence, achieved on November 11, 1975, which marks a turning point in the country’s political and development process.

For Miguel de Oliveira, the Executive, as a result of this achievement, has incessantly worked to achieve general well-being and safeguard the dignity of the human person.

He recalled that during the years of effective peace, several social facilities were built in the sectors of health, education, transport, agriculture, industry, housing, among others.

To celebrate the date, several activities are planned, with emphasis on social, sporting and cultural activities.
