Africa-Press – Angola. The deputy governor for the Political, Economic and Social Sector of Uíge, Sónia Arte Domingos, appealed, this Saturday, to the population of this region of the country to continue preserving the achievements of national independence, achieved on November 11, 1975.

Sónia Arlete, who spoke at the celebration of the provincial act of 48 years of national independence, held in the city of Uíge (capital of the province), said that preserving the achievements of national independence is perpetuating the Agostinho Neto legacy.

For this reason, the vice-governor spoke of the need to continue cultivating the spirit of unity, love and forgiveness, aiming for the country’s development.

Regarding the date, the official said that it should serve as a reflection for all Angolans, as well as the continued valorization of human capital, a fundamental factor for the country’s development.

He also highlighted the achievements of national independence, having allowed the development of the region in the areas of Education, Health, roads, supply of drinking water and electricity, bridges and other social establishments.

The event was attended by members of the provincial government, deputies to the National Assembly, political and religious entities, traditional authorities and defense and security bodies.
