Africa-Press – Angola. The vice-governor for the Political, Economic and Social sector of Cuando Cubango, Helena Chimena, asked this Monday, the Angolan Bar Association (OAA), to contribute to raising the awareness and legal culture of citizens in the jurisdiction.
To this end, they must cultivate the habit of promoting legal culture among citizens in the nine municipalities, so that they know how to demand, in an educated and responsible manner, their rights.
Helena Chimena made this request during the ceremony that marked the granting of certificates to 33 new lawyers, including trainees and permanent ones, in the city of Menongue, capital of Cuando Cubango, where she assured that they compete for the full exercise and defense of the fundamental rights of citizens, enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic, in case of violation.
Helena Chimena called on new lawyers to scrupulously comply with what is set out in the law, regarding the exercise of their functions, the statute of the order and the code of ethics and professional deontology.
