Africa-Press – Angola. The vice-president of the African Union (AU) Commission, Monique Nsanzabaganwa, defended this Thursday, in Luanda, the increase in the representation of Angolans in the organization’s system.
The vice-president of the AU, who was speaking during a meeting with the head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António, highlighted the country’s great contribution to the organization, which is why it should take advantage of its vacancies.
The official also praised the role played by Angola in the pacification of member states, also highlighting the importance of its contribution to the implementation of projects within the framework of Agenda 2063.
“I am grateful for the active role of Angola’s financial contribution to the African Union, valuing the country’s strategic importance for African Peace and Security”, he said.
The official announced soon and for the first time the visit of the president of the African Union, Azali Assoumani, to Angola.
On the occasion, the head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António, stressed that the AU is attentive to the contributions that the country has made and therefore wants to continue to cooperate and maintain them for the implementation of the organization’s projects.
The diplomat stressed that the AU recognizes Angola’s efforts and praised the designation of President João Lourenço as champion of peace, for the work carried out in favor of peace and stability in African states.
Téte António said that Angola has ensured full cooperation with the African Union Commission and reaffirmed its absolute commitment to the principles and strategic objectives of the African Union, also expressing its commitment to supporting ongoing Institutional and Financial Reforms, as well as complying with the objectives of Agenda 2063.
During the meeting they also analyzed issues on the political-diplomatic agenda of interest to the Angolan State and that continental multilateral organization.
The 3rd edition of the Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace in Africa-Luanda Biennial and the insertion of staff into the African Union, among other issues of common interest, were on the table, in the conversation held between the two entities.
The head of Angolan diplomacy and the Vice-President of the African Union Commission also discussed joint engagement in achieving the objectives of Agenda 2063 and the implementation of profound reforms at the level of the African Union, with the aim of allowing greater representation of States. members, including Angola, in the largest political platform on the continent, the cradle of humanity.
