Africa-Press – Angola. The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, will chair, on Wednesday, the second ordinary session of the National Council for Transport and Traffic Planning (CNVOT) which will assess, among other topics, the situation of road accidents in the first half of the current year.
According to a press release from the Office of the Vice-President, sent the meeting will also serve to address “key actions for prevention and road safety”, to be implemented by 31 December next, and the “proposal for partial alteration of the Presidential Decree No. 202/16, of 27 September, which approves the regulation on the attribution of license plates and vehicle plate numbers and national registration.
The council will be informed about the public consultation regarding the proposal to amend Decree Law 5/08, of 29 September, which approves the Road Code.
The CNVOT is the consultation body for the Holder of Executive Power in matters relating to road and traffic ordering at national level. It is coordinated by the Vice-President of the Republic.
Created under Presidential Decree 18/13 of April 15, the CNVOT is responsible for, among other duties, promoting safety and proposing the approval of laws and other measures aimed at solving road traffic problems.
