Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Ngunyen Kim Som, presented this Tuesday, in Luanda, courtesy greetings to the vice-president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião, and congratulated or this party for the victory achieved in the 2022 general elections.

After leaving the meeting, the Vietnamese leader told the press that he took the opportunity to inform the MPLA vice-president about the levels of cooperation between Angola and Vietnam, as well as the need to strengthen them.

He pointed out that the two countries cooperate in several areas, with emphasis on education and health.

However, Ngunyen Kim Som stressed that his country intends to invest on a large scale in the agriculture and trade sectors.

He highlighted that in addition to good political and diplomatic relations between the two countries, the focus in the near future will be on investing more and more in the Angolan market.

Relations

Angola and Vietnam established diplomatic relations in November 1975 and in 1978 signed the General Cooperation Agreement, an instrument that served as the basis for the opening of several protocols in the social, economic, as well as technical-scientific areas.

Traditionally, relations between the two countries are limited to the areas of agriculture, health, education and trade. Data shows that there are around 20 private Vietnamese companies working in Angola.

Located in Southeast Asia, Vietnam has an economy focused on the electronics, industrial and agribusiness sectors.
