"We nullified Congo's shooters" - Nelson Catito

Africa-Press – Angola. The cancellation of the shots dictated the victory over Congo Brazzaville, by 30-15, in the second game of the Pre-Olympic qualifier for the 2024 Olympic Games, in Paris.

This was stated by the assistant coach of the National Team, Nelson Catito, after the second match played this Thursday at the Kilamba Multipurpose pavilion, in Luanda.

He added that the players were better in their approach to the match, where the barrier over the main Congolese scorers helped to reduce the possibility of conceding goals.

In turn, Congo’s coach, Tatby Younes, said that his team did not start the match well, making mistakes that led to the defeat.

He said that it was difficult to maintain balance against a very fast team like Angola.

In their debut, the Angolans beat Senegal, 22-21, while Congo Brazzaville drew against Cameroon, 21-21.

Angola scored 52 goals in two games, averaging 26 goals per game, while Congo scored 36, an average of 18 goals per game.
