Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion presented, in Luanda, at a press conference, the National Award “Mulher de Mérito”, whose winners are known in March next year.

According to the president of the jury, Rosa Cruz e Silva, the 1st edition of the award will take place in March next year, to publicly honor and recognize several Angolan women who stood out in 2022, in the various fields of development of society. .

With the measure, the Executive intends to further enhance the role of women in the fields of Research, Health, Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, Fisheries, Family Agriculture, Culture and Art, Women and Citizenship, Overcoming, Blue Economy, Tourism, Environment and Biodiversity. .

The award, according to Rosa Cruz e Silva, also falls within the scope of the actions inherent to the National Development Plan 2022-2027 aimed at promoting gender and the empowerment of women, as well as the Executive’s actions aimed at full integration of women in economic, financial and professional life.

Applications for the “Mulher de Mérito” National Award must be made individually, with each candidate applying only in one of the 11 established categories. The application process is open from the current month and extends until the end of November.

For the other provinces, the jury has the support of the Offices for Social Action, Family and Gender Equality.

Rosa Cruz e Silva informed that, between December of this year and January of the next, the jury will carry out works of analysis and selection of the candidacies and, in March, the announcement of the winning candidacies will be made. “In each category, the candidate who obtains the best classification is awarded”, she clarified.

Women who wish to apply must comply with the requirements set out in the regulation of the National Woman of Merit Award, highlighting the full completion of the application form available in the provincial directorates of Social Action, Family and Gender Equality, photocopy of the Identity Card or passport, two passport photographs, copy of curriculum vitae and/or witness statements, autobiography and summary of projects/actions undertaken.

The jury of the National Woman of Merit award is made up, in addition to the president Rosa Cruz e Silva, by Carlinda Monteiro, Albano Cufuna, Telmo Ricardo, André Victor, Amor Monteiro, Eva Rosa Santos and Nadir Tati.

The prize, with a minimum value of one million and a maximum of five million kwanzas, per category, was established by Presidential Decree no 35/22, of 3 February, which also approved its regulation.
