Africa-Press – Angola. The National Women’s Senior Futsal Team makes its debut today in the 1st edition of the African Nations Championship (CAN), when it faces Guinea at 2:00 pm, at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex Pavilion, in Rabat, Morocco, in the first round of Group B. The national team goes into this match confident, despite having little information about the opponent. However, the work done over the course of six weeks guarantees a good result in the opening game of the first women’s futsal competition.
A victory in the first round will open Angola’s path to the semi-finals of the competition, which has only nine participants, divided into three groups made up of the same number of teams.Although they have little knowledge of the teams participating in this Championship, the national team has worked hard in recent weeks, playing several games against men’s teams, in order to give greater competitive maturity to the athletes, who have little professional experience.
In the last training session held in Rabat, coach Nandinho Rosário once again worked on running with the ball under control. In a light training session lasting an hour and a half, the national coach insisted on shots on goal, from short and medium distances, as well as trying to improve the harmony between the sectors. The players’ spirits are high, judging by what they demonstrated in the last training session.
