Africa-Press – Angola. The national football team coach Patrice Beaumelle said on Monday (22) that the 2-1 defeat in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)’s first round game against South Africa is associated with a better interpretation of the game by the opposing team.

In brief statements in the mixed zone of the Marrakech stadium, where the two teams played in their opening Group B match, the French coach admitted that the beginning of the game was balanced, but in the 2nd half, the opponent was more daring and showed a different kind of pace.

He stressed that Angola played against a very complete and confident team, and for 5 or 6 minutes the team suffered because they couldn’t get ball possession.

Patrice Beaumelle said that there is a difference between the two teams, with the South Africans having worked together for almost 5 years, while Angola is in the process of building a squad capable of fighting for new achievements.

Angola plays again on Friday (26) at 1 PM against Zimbabwe and concludes the regular season on the 29th against Egypt.
