Speaking at the end of the visit to the province by the Secretary of State for Waters, Manuel Quintino, the official said that with the start-up of the new system, home connections will increase from the current 6,000 to 10,000 in the district of Caxito.

According to the official, the city of Caxito needs to modernize the Mabubas catchment system and increase its capacity due to the population growth that is taking place.
He underlined that the provincial government is working to cover the areas without water, stressing that the second phase of integrated infrastructure in Caxito includes most of the city’s neighbourhoods, with the exception of Sassa Povoação.
In Bengo province, customer debt over the last five years is estimated at more than 170 million kwanzas.
