World champion Rui Andrade in the country for tribute

Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan driver Rui Andrade, World Endurance Motorsport champion, in the LMP2 category, for the WRT team, in the “8 Hours of Bahrain”, arrived this Friday morning, in the city of Luanda.

The athlete, who started out in Angola, in the Carting category, came to the country as part of a tribute for his achievement, to be held at the Galeria dos Desportos, in the Cidadela Desportiva Complex.

At 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, Rui Andrade was received by members of the Government of the Province of Luanda, political and religious entities, athletes, former practitioners and the general population.

Transported on a float, those involved will travel the Airport-Cidadela Desportiva route, in a program that includes intervention by the National Director for Sports, Nicolau Daniel, the Governor of the province of Luanda, Manuel Homem, and the president of the Angolan Motor Sports Federation , Ramiro Barreira.

This is the first world title for the Angolan who races with a license issued by the Angolan Motor Sports Federation, but the second international title after having achieved the European title, in the same category, in 2021, at the Portimão Circuit, in Portugal.
