Africa-Press – Angola. A youth festival has been taking place since Friday, in the municipality of Cambambe (Cuanza Norte), as part of the 101st birthday of the founder of the Angolan Nation, António Agostinho Neto, celebrated on the 17th of this month.
The event features a photographic and bibliographic exhibition, music, dance, theater and poetry recitation by Agostinho Neto. It is promoted by Associação Vida Angola (AVA).
The festival is taking place at Largo da Independência, in the city of Dondo, and portrays the life of Agostinho Neto in various contexts of the fight for the country’s decolonization, including meetings with academics and diplomats. Ends on Sunday.
According to the coordinator of AVA, Sadoc Alfredo, the act aims not only to perpetuate the figure of Neto, but also to share, with citizens, the association’s bibliographic collection.
The municipal director of Culture in Cambambe, João António dos Santos, said it was a remarkable act, as it involved school-age children.
