Africa-Press – Angola. Eighty-nine various border infractions, which resulted in the arrest of 221 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), were recorded in the last seven days by the Border Guard Police in the province of Zaire.

In a note sent this Monday, in Mbanza Kongo, the Zaire Provincial Command of the National Police, informs that compared to the same previous period, there was a reduction of six incidents.

Among the infractions are one for illegal entry and stay of a foreigner, 11 for fuel smuggling, 60 for border violation and 17 for smuggling of goods.

In relation to illegal immigrants, the report clarifies that, after the operational registration, 63 citizens were sent to the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) in the region and 158 others were repatriated.

The offenses occurred in the border municipalities of Mbanza Kongo, Nóqui and Cuimba.

The province of Zaire shares a 310-kilometer border with the Central Congo region, DRC.
